The Kremlin
Religion plays a large role in Pskov's history and present life. Most people who live here practice the Orthodox Christian faith. Women should wear skirts inside of the church and head wraps to cover their heads. Men don't have to follow this practice, but there are many men both young and old who serve the church as monks and dress in traditional monk attire consisting of long black robes that cover from neck to toe and black hats. Many of them have long facial hair (beards). The Kremlin seen below is surrounded by churches and inside its walls are the foundations of churches left over from days past.
